Support ends for Exchange Server 2007, as of April 11th 2017
Posted by Bethany Crease – 10 April 2017
Tomorrow, Exchange Server 2007 will reach End of Life. This means that Microsoft will no longer provide the following support for Exchange 2007:
- free or paid assisted support (including custom support agreements)
- bug fixes for issues that are discovered and that may impact the stability and usability of the server
- security fixes for vulnerabilities that are discovered and that may make the server vulnerable to security breaches
- time zone updates
Your installation of Exchange 2007 will continue to run after this date. However, the changes listed above will eventually result in an unreliable server, security risks and compliance headaches. So, if you haven’t migrated yet, we recommend you migrate as soon as possible!
What to do next
Your options are to move to Office 365 or Exchange 2016.
If you’re using a Microsoft business solution, such as Dynamics NAV or Dynamics 365 for Sales, you may want to consider migrating to Office 365. This is because Office 365 brings several advantages for those using these solutions, it’s integration capabilities for example (click here for a video illustration).
Additionally, Acora’s recent partnership with TransVault (a migration specialist with over 1,300 successful moves), enables us to use the latest techniques and cutting-edge algorithms to move your data direct from source to destination, in an unbeatable time frame with no downtime.
You’re welcome to ask our team about what option is best for your business, they will be able to talk you through the pros and cons of each option, and can help you put a migration plan in place for a move to Office 365.
